Linux stdout pipe not working

JLinkGDBServer appears not to allow stdout to be piped, to a program or file.
If this is to enable JLinkGDBServer to be run via pipes and not TCP, for the GDB connection, could this be documented.
If it is by design, could a command line switch to enable the textual status messages to be piped, for logging, be added.

Confirmation?

Could someone confirm if this is the issue I am facing as I need to write a report and would like state it as a fact.
